Who we are
Pump System Design ("we", "us") provides pump system design training and tools at pumpsystemdesign.com. We are based in Ontario, Canada, and handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
- Waitlist signups: your email address (and your name, if a form asks for it), the page you signed up from, the date, and a record of the consent you gave.
- Site usage: anonymous, aggregated page-view statistics through Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies, does not use local storage, and does not track you across sites.
- Technical data: our host, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses and request data to deliver and secure the site.
- Tools: the unit converter runs entirely in your browser. Values you enter are not sent to us.
Why we use it
We use your email to send updates about our courses and tools, which you agreed to when you signed up, and to respond to requests you make. We use analytics to understand which pages are useful. We do not sell personal information.
Service providers
We use these providers, which may store data outside Canada (for example, in the United States), where it may be accessible to authorities under local law:
- HubSpot (email list and contact management)
- Cloudflare (hosting, security and Web Analytics)
- Future: when courses launch, a course platform (such as Thinkific) and a payment processor will handle enrolment and payments. Card details will be handled by the payment processor, not stored by us. We will update this policy before they go live.
Consent and unsubscribing
We only email you if you have given consent. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Retention
We keep waitlist information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until the waitlist is no longer needed. After that we delete it, except for any minimal record we need to keep to honour an unsubscribe or meet a legal obligation.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, reply to any email we have sent you. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Security
We use reputable providers with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and limit access to personal information to what is needed.
Changes
We will post updates on this page and change the "Last updated" date.
